Like A Tesseract, Broken

Standing at Tannhäuser’s Gate
I wake from the slumber I crave
Phased, and confused
Like a tesseract, broken

All of time’s a thread
And I find myself at a Knot
Waiting for another yesterday
Like a tesseract, broken

I search for his Kopis
But there’s so many copies
Hanging in oblivious realities
Like a tesseract, broken

Is that the mutiny of the future
Against the forgotten past
Where causality is the casualty
Like a tesseract, broken

“Just keep swimming”
But this ocean is deceit
And reminiscence betrays
Like a tesseract, broken

For who I feared was the foe
Greets me like a friend
Perhaps what I see at the shore is not
Like a tesseract, broken

(Comes Virgil with me
As I ascend from Nether
I no longer feel
Like a tesseract, broken)

Wrote this poem last night and made this abstract cube completely from scratch in Cinema 4D, rendered using Octane.

There are several references in the poem ranging from Greek, Italian and German literature to modern cinema and science fiction. I don’t usually write as much as I used to, let alone writing poetry, but I just felt like I should let out what I have felt over the course of the last few months. A coping mechanism of sorts.

If you’ve reached here, thank you for reading this. It means a lot to me when people pay attention to my post.
